Submitting an application on Health Sherpa using the Zorro API

Overview

The Zorro API sends the majority of application details to Health Sherpa in a new tab. While this connection saves significant time, it's important to note that you must still review and ensure the application is complete before submission. This is not an instant solution—you'll need to take action to finalize each application.


Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Access Enrollments

Log in to your account and navigate to the Enrollments section.

Step 2: Select an Employee

Click on the employee link for an individual who has submitted an election.

Tip: Use the status filter to find employees with "Election Submitted" status for easier navigation.

Step 3: Start the Application

Within the employee's enrollment screen, click Start Application.

Important: Ensure you're also logged into the carrier system to confirm application details.

Step 4: Validate Key Information

On the first screen, verify the following information matches what's reflected in the carrier system:

  • Plan details

  • Listed applicants

  • Premium amount

  • Coverage period

Step 5: Generate Payment Method

Click the "Confirm and Generate Payment Method" button.

Step 6: Continue to Payment

Select "Continue" to proceed.

Step 7: Select Health Sherpa Option

Choose the Health Sherpa option from the available choices.

Step 8: Open Health Sherpa

Click "Continue to Health Sherpa" to begin the application in a new tab.

Important: Not all enrollments can be completed via Health Sherpa. Please refer to our "Carriers Supporting Enrollments via Health Sherpa" help center article for a complete list of supported carriers.

Step 9: Review Auto-Populated Information

Once in Health Sherpa, the Zorro API connection will automatically fill in fields. However, you must validate all fields and information to ensure accurate application submission.

Step 10: Verify Application Details

To ensure accuracy:

  1. Click the "View Application Details" button

  2. Confirm that all details within Health Sherpa match those listed in Zorro

  3. Review all pre-populated fields carefully

Step 11: Update Payment Information

After submitting the application, update:

  • Payment status

  • Which party handles the payments

Step 12: Complete Documentation

To finalize the process:

  1. Attach any relevant application submission evidence showing the application was submitted

  2. If necessary, send communications to the employee with their required actions
