Once your company’s Open Enrollment period begins, employees will be able to log into their Zorro portal and start the renewal process.
The enrollment process:
Allowance: At the beginning of their renewal process, employees will be able to see their allowance and if there were any changes.
Household information: Employees will have the ability to update their household information. All currently covered family members will be listed, and the employee can add or remove members as needed.
Health plan: If the same plan is available for the following year, employees will have the option to renew their existing plan. They will be redirected to a comparison screen that shows their current coverage alongside next year’s coverage, including updated allowances and premium costs. If they prefer to shop for a new plan, they can use Zorro’s AI shopping tool to personalize their search based on their preferences.
Zorro Pay with the same carrier (same plan or a new plan): If the employee decides to stay with the same carrier – either renewing their existing plan or selecting a new one – their Zorro Pay card will remain the same and they will not need to get a new one. However, Zorro still needs to take action and change the allotted amount on the card. Once the Enrollment Team finalizes the employee’s renewal enrollment, Zorro will increase the amount on the Zorro Pay card. The employee will likewise also have an additional step, and they will need to update their premium amount through the carrier's portal and confirm their recurring payments for the upcoming year.
Zorro Pay with a new carrier: If the employee chooses a new plan with a different carrier, their prior Zorro Pay card will no longer work, as Zorro Pay cards are “programmed” based on the carrier. Zorro will issue a new Zorro Pay card and deactivate the prior one once the December payment for the prior plan has been processed.
Important note: Employees need to take action as part of all renewals, no matter their election – to either discontinue a prior plan, set up a new auto-pay amount, or otherwise inform their carrier of changes. It is critical to let employees know they must take action and to direct them to the employee renewal detailed FAQ section here.
