Special Enrollment Period (SEP) letters are official documents used to confirm that an employee (or their dependents) qualifies for a period allowing them to enroll in a health plan outside of the standard annual Open Enrollment Period for individual health insurance coverage. The SEP letter will be available for employees in their Zorro portal.
The SEP letter usually serves as proof that an employee is eligible to enroll in or change their health insurance outside of the regular open enrollment period due to certain life events or specific circumstances related to the ICHRA plan (such as being offered a new ICHRA plan, or becoming newly-eligible for an ICHRA plan after being hired).
