How Zorro's Smart Technology Works
Our platform uses artificial intelligence to personalize your plan search. The system analyzes multiple factors to identify the most suitable plans from all available options:
Your current doctors
Your medications
Expected costs
Your personal preferences
Getting Started
Step 1: Log In and View Your Allowance
When you first log into Zorro, you'll immediately see your monthly allowance amount displayed on your dashboard. This is the amount your employer provides to help cover your health insurance premiums.
Step 2: Get Help from an Enrollment Specialist (Optional)
If you'd like personalized assistance before starting your search:
Click "View instructions" from your main dashboard
Schedule a 30-minute consultation with a licensed insurance specialist
Get expert guidance through the entire selection process
Step 3: Start Shopping for Plans
Click "Get Started" to begin shopping for your health insurance plan.
Completing Your Profile
1. Household Information
The platform pre-populates some information from your employer:
Name
Date of birth
Address
You'll need to add:
Social Security number
Citizenship status
Marital status
Any other required fields
Spouse and dependent information (if applicable)
2. Selecting Your Expected Level of Care
Choose the healthcare usage level that best describes your needs. You'll see all four levels displayed side by side on one screen, so it's easy to compare them directly before choosing. This helps our AI identify suitable plans for you:
Essential — Annual physical check-up, routine care only
Moderate — Occasional doctor visits, minor procedures
Above Average — Regular specialist visits, more frequent medical needs
Extensive — Chronic conditions, frequent medical care needed
Important: These selections guide our recommendations but don't limit your actual healthcare usage.
3. Adding Your Doctors and Medications
Doctors
Enter your current doctors
The system automatically geo-locates doctors based on your address
Include all specialists you see regularly
Medications
Enter all current medications
Include both brand names and generic names
Example: Enter both "Ozempic" and "semaglutide" — plans may cover one version but not the other
Understanding Your Plan Options
Plan Information Display
Each plan card shows:
Providers and Medications (how many of yours are covered)
Deductible
Max out-of-pocket (Max OOP)
What you pay
Plan cost
Three Viewing Options
Top Matches: A set of recommended plans, each labeled with the specific trade-off it wins on (for example, the strongest worst-case protection, or the lowest overall cost), based on the care level and provider/medication info you provided
All Plans: Shows the complete list of every available plan — same filtering, sorting, and search as before
Saved Plans: Plans you've marked as favorites, to revisit later
Using Filters
You can filter plans by:
Insurance carrier
Metal tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum)
Network type
HSA eligibility
Your AI benefit consultant
From the very first step, an AI benefit consultant guides you through the entire shopping experience — it's no longer a side feature you have to click into. A persistent chat panel stays open throughout your session and is aware of what you're currently viewing (for example, which plan's details are on your screen), so you can ask questions specific to what's in front of you. If you're not sure what to ask, it also offers a few quick-prompt suggestions to get you started, alongside a free-text box to ask anything else.
Editing Your Enrollment Profile Later
Already submitted your profile info and want to make a change? Click "Enrollment profile" at the top of the plans page any time to update your personal information, providers, medications, or risk tolerance — no need to start over. See "How do I edit my Enrollment Profile?" below for details.
Selecting and Confirming Your Plan
1. Important Verification Step
Always verify doctor acceptance: Even if a plan shows your doctor is covered, we recommend:
Call your doctor's office directly (not the insurance carrier)
Ask specifically about the individual plan you're considering
Don't just ask about the carrier - confirm the specific plan name
2. Making Your Selection
Open a plan's full details and click "Select this plan"
A plan's detail view, with the “Select this plan” button and the plan-aware AI chat
3. Review and Confirm Coverage
Review your plan summary, including carrier contact information and who is covered (you, spouse, dependents)
Read the medical elections consent in full
Type your full name and click "Sign"
Click "Confirm coverage" to finalize
