What is the logic behind the election window that is created automatically for Special Enrollment Periods?

When an employee joins mid-year, their election window is calculated based on their eligibility start date and the date established for SEP deadlines when the employer was added to Zorro.

When an employer is onboarded to Zorro, the date is determined by the Enrollment Team servicing the employer.

Generally, the recommended date is the 10th, such that the election window will be from the day an employee is added until the 10th in the month preceding the eligibility start.

For instance, if an employee is added on June 18th with an eligibility start date of August (based on the employer’s waiting period), their shopping period will be from June 18th through July 10th.
